The culmination of the Windsor and Maidenhead District Mixed Softball League was the annual All Star Game that took place on Wednesday Night at the spiritual home of baseball and softball in the UK - Farnham Park. The All Star Game is a contest between the players determined to be the best in the league, as nominated by their fellow players through being voted MVP (most valuable player) the most times during the season.
Playing in the red team and representing the Marlow Mariners were Rick Krajewski (centre right) and Ruth Scott (catcher). Both players started on the bench before coming on at the top of the fourth inning and gave an extremely good account of themselves. The result was close but unfortunately went the way of the blue team who clinched victory with a 15-13 score in a game shortened due to fading light.
Congratulations to all the players who took part in the All Star Game - each one of them did their own teams proud, as well as the Windsor and Maidenhead League, by putting on such an excellent display of softball.
